Portfolio

An overview of Industries we work in.

Environmental Protection:
Charger has supplied complete Air Scrubber systems, such as the project we completed for Dravo Wellman on a Sulphur Depot in Port Moody BC. This complete system included tanks, hoppers, 52" diameter scroll fans, ductwork and mechanical fabrications.

Mining:
For several years now, we have re-built and machined electric wheel motor housings for mine hauling trucks. We are one of the few Canadian Welding Bureau certified shops that can offer this service to General Electric specifications, saving companies up to 2/3 the cost of replacement.

Because of our in-house plate processing ability, including capacity to roll heavy plate materials, we have the ability to complete projects such as: the 100' long by 10' diameter by 2" wall kiln sections we delivered to Allis Minerals in Port Mellon; or the 42' diameter lime kiln that was part of a larger project for British Petroleum.

Forestry:
Again, we have delivered hundreds of tons of finished mill equipment to companies like Fletcher Challenge and Macmillan Bloedel and have produced customized equipment for several engineering firms. Mill products include trim saws, edgers, infeed & outfeed tables and log handling conveyors. Charger and Flare have built a solid reputation in the Forest Community.

Material Handling:
Besides the Mining and Forestry industries, we have built many hundreds of feet of conveyor systems for other sectors, including: truss conveyors, scraper conveyors, pre-heaters and cooling tanks for the British Petroleum project mentioned above; and roller station, ducts, chutes, headers and flap gates for Tilbury Cement.

Manufacturing
One example of our manufacturing customers is Scott Paper, one of Charger Engineering's oldest customers. They have contracted us to design and build many systems over the years to help streamline their manufacturing process in the New Westminister plant. Our latest project had our team building a heat-exchanger. Even though the finished size of the exchanger was only 11X12X12, there was over 1100 feet of boiler tubing needed to complete this part of project.
